As we wrap up our month of advocacy, we are reflecting on how deeply our mission at Poder Unides aligns with the values of humanism.

Thanks to support from the Humanist Grant, we began this month providing meals, showers, and essential resources to our community, and we ended it by creating spaces for connection, dialogue, and collective growth.

So, are you a humanist?

Humanism is rooted in a simple belief: we all have the capacity for good. It values empathy, fairness, compassion, and critical thinking. Humanists believe that creating a better world starts with how we show up for one another—not because we expect a reward, but because caring for people matters.

At Poder Unides, we see these values in action every day. Whether through mutual aid, advocacy, leadership development, or community care, we believe in the power of people helping people.
