This week we’re featuring the West Midtown jewel of Berkeley Park! Prior to development of Berkeley Park, it was part of a farm owned by Jesse Wood. He eventually divided the farm among his children and the section which is today Berkeley Park was given to his son Elias Hinton (E.H.) Wood. Elias was the first pastor at Peachtree Road Methodist Church and in 1921 initiated the development of Berkeley Park. Architecture in this neighborhood ranges from 1920s bungalows to modern new constructions and everything in-between. Situated in one of the most convenient nooks in the city, Berkeley Park offers quick access to Midtown, Buckhead, Downtown, Atlantic Station, I-75/85, Georgia Tech, all-things-Atlanta! Notably, the Atlanta Waterworks Park opened up last year on the edge of Berkeley Park. It's a two-acre greenspace on one of Atlanta's highest points that has been off-limits for 25 years -- definitely worth a stop for amazing views of the city! If you work up 75, your partner works downtown, your kid (or pup) goes to daycare in Midtown, your best friends live in a swanky Buckhead manor; Berkeley Park is the neighborhood for you! ⠀
