Rather than paying LTC premiums with cash, eligible married couples age have an alternative option to fund a joint long term care policy using qualified money (e.g. 401k, inherited IRA, etc). And thanks to the Secure Act of 2019 the premiums will also count towards Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) spread over a 10 year period.

If you ever needed long term care, how would you pay for it? Option 1: Government — govt programs such as Medicaid, may require you to spend down your assets first. Option 2: Self-funding — Requires you to pay out-of-pocket for all expenses, and may erode assets quickly, especially with the high cost of care coupled with inflation. Option 3: Insurance — transfers the risk to an insurance company for protection.

I am fascinated with the intricate design of our eyes. Random, unguided natural forces cannot account for such complexity.
