Black excellence on full display! Coming from a grassroots community arts program that initially practiced in local recreation center basements on linoleum floors, these young athletes spent years refining their technique. Their historic routine beautifully incorporated classical pointe work with fluid, soulful contemporary movements, completely mesmerizing the international judging panel. Last night, they became the first independent American school to secure the grand trophy in the competition's ninety-year history. What an incredible milestone for these dedicated young dancers!
