Do I Have to be Poor to be Saved? 05/31/2026

Happy Sunday, church family! ✨
Last week, I shared the exciting news that my wife Jeanne is officially retired! If you are young and watching this, let me remind you: time flies, and you had better be prepared. If you are already retired, you know exactly how swiftly this season of life arrives.
We saved for this moment, which brings up an important question we are tackling in today’s message: Is money bad? Can you be a saver and also be saved? 🤔
We often hear people say that money is the root of all evil. But that isn't what the Bible says. 1 Timothy 6:10 tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil.
Money itself is amoral. It is a tool. It can be used to fund a drug cartel, or it can be used to build an orphanage. The issue is never the money; it is always the heart.
Today, we look at Proverbs 15:16:
📖 “Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it.”
Whether we have a little or a lot, the key is having a deep reverence and respect for God that impacts the way we live. Wealth without a spiritual foundation is dangerous. But wealth in the hands of someone who loves Jesus can change the world through generosity.
Let’s guard our hearts and use everything we have for His glory!

Today, we pause the scroll to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. We hold a deep sense of gratitude for the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Our freedom is a lasting gift from their unmatched courage and selflessness. Wishing everyone a peaceful, safe, and reflective day with loved ones. 🕊️🇺🇸As President Ronald Reagan once noted, "We owe them a debt we can never repay." Let us live in a way that honors their memory every single day.

Family Treasure 05/17/2026

Ever received an "inheritance" check so small it felt like a joke? 😅 In this week's message, I share a story from 2001 about an oil-rich inheritance in Mississippi that ended up being exactly $63.44.
It reminds me of Proverbs 15:6: "In the house of the righteous there is much treasure..." But does that mean loving God makes you financially rich?
We are diving deep into scripture to debunk the misconceptions about biblical wealth and shifting our focus to the priceless spiritual benefits found in Psalm 103.
