A little exercise I did to strengthen my understanding of color theory and experiment with hues.
Basically, I put a greyscale filter over my laptop display so when I went into Photoshop, I couldn't guess which colors I used in the drawing. Consider it a color roulette! And it turned out pretty cool! I'll definitely be posting more of these exercises in the near future because it was so darn fun to do! I hope y'all can see the vision here while also enjoying a snippet of a song from one of my favorite hip-hop albums of all time.
Ciao for now π

GUYSSSS AAHHHHH MY SUBMISSION FOR THE UNDERGROUND ATL JOURNAL WAS ACCEPTED AND FEATURED IN THE NEW ISSUEEEE AAHHH
My piece titled "High at the High" is a photo taken during last year's Juneteenth Celebration at the High Museum. Essentially, I wanted to highlight the importance of black joy as a form of resistance. Y'all I get so tired of seeing us constantly being depicted in pain or struggling with something as though that's the only life we live. Like many cultures, OURS IS MULTIFACETED. We are everything we want to be, and it most importantly shows in how we celebrate each other! Let's keep doing that! No matter the sexuality, gender identity, social class, religion, nationality, hair color, favorite music, favorite food, or any other path you walk, true love shows in how we celebrate our uniqueness as a people. We are better UNIFIED.
Thank you so much for accepting my work, and a much BIGGER thank you to my friends and family that have shown and continue to show their support for my self-expression π«ΆπΎπ I can't wait to share more moments like this :)

Consider this business HANDLED. π But I didn't do it alone;
What you see here could not possibly explain to you all the ups and downs, the highs and lows, or the lefts and rights of my experience in the past 5 years since leaving highschool with little vision for what I wanted to do with my life. It's a never-endibg mystery, as I am still in pursuit of the answer to that question. But I do know that with the help of my family--my mother, sister, brother, grandparents, friends, best friends, and more--that I was able to continue into the unknown even when I was afraid of it.
This will continue long after I cross that stage. For that reason, I'm getting a feeling this life just got a little more exciting. Stay tuned folks! The show ain't over β¨οΈ
P.S. I'm graduating with a Bachelor's in Studio Art with a Minor in Music! Who saw that coming?? Maybe some of y'all did but I definitely didn't π
Special thanks to my beloved sister .k and her successful friend for these photos! And of course, I couldn't resist getting involved in the editing process π
Color isolation gets me everytime lol

A collection of shots I've gathered from random outings these past few weeks πΆββοΈπ’ City strolling, record shopping, carnival shenanigans, and more. It's nice to be out again.

Some shots I snapped this past Saturday at a morning walk for su***de prevention and awareness. I wasn't going to go at first because it happened so early, but I'm happy I changed my mind. I made a few new friends, got some morning exercise, and the weather couldn't be any more perfect. Most importantly, I've known many people who struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts so I felt obligated to be there.
To those who may be reading this, if you're having trouble finding glimpses of life in your world, find your reflection.
The universe will tell you that it loves you.
Because rhere is no universe without YOU. Thank you for being here with us π

WOOHOOOO This one was very challenging to do, which made it all the more fun honestly!
If you're a fan of chillhop like I am, then you might've come across some of Birocratic's work! His discography has a jazzy vibe that got me instantly hooked when I heard songs like "Corporate Japan" or "Belly Breathing."
I remember many late nights trying to finish AP assignments during the 2020 lockdown, and these beets carried me through and through. So there is also a nostalgic element to his tunes that gets me coming back for more.
Keep your eyes peeled for more like this! I've got an endless list of music artists I gotta show some love to. Until then, ciao for now βπ½β¨οΈ

I had been sitting on this idea for a long enough, so i decided to put pencil to paper two days ago and see my vision. I had a lot of fun with this one!
I recall discovering Sufjan's music at the height of the pandemic with "Fourth of July" being my first. A tragic beginning, i know π But the tenderness of this songs is what got me instantly hooked, and I've been riding along ever since. His music means a lot to me.
