The body worn camera video released by APD shows the unknown officer pull out his gun and point it at Belt-Stubblefield while he is approaching him in his damaged vehicle. Belt-Stubblefield eventually opens the door. He then exits his vehicle with one hand tucked behind his back. Officers say he was concealing a gun. The officer grabs Belt-Stubblefield and the two begin to wrestle. Eventually the officer regains his footing and Belt-Stubblefield is seen with nothing in his hands. That’s when Belt-Stubblefield begins to walk toward the officer. The officer — still holding Stubblefield at gunpoint — pushes him. Stubblefield tells his son several times to get something and points to the ground. At one point Belt-Stubblefield turns around and the officer strikes him on the side of the head. Stubblefield continues to move toward the retreating officer down until the officer shoots him twice in the chest and once in the head.
There’s no justification for three shots to an unarmed man who has been struck in the back of the head using lethal force.

Neighbors, this story is insane! A Black couple is calling for justice after they claim they were racially attacked by a group of white people, which led to a near-fatal car accident.
The incident happened in Spotsylvania County, VA when Amylah Majors, 25, and her wife, Jamaria Gaskins, 24, were driving down a rural road when they pulled over to check on their car troubles. As they were inspecting the car, Mark Goodman came out of a house they were in front of and reportedly gave them a thumbs up. Majors claims she thought this meant they would help them, but they were sadly mistaken. Next thing they know, Goodman, Elizabeth Wolfrey, and another unidentified man came out of the house allegedly waving their guns around and screaming racial slurs at the couple. Woodman even showed his bare a** during the altercation.
“We were chased, threatened with fi****ms, and called racial slurs by three white individuals who acted as if they were part of a white supremacist group,” Majors wrote in a GoFundMe post. “Two of them physically attacked my wife while brandishing a gun and shouting threats.”
Frightened, the couple called the police, got back in their car, and continued down the road to get away, but they followed them. One of them allegedly pulled up beside them on a 4-wheeler and pointed a gun right at Majors’ head. This caused them to crash their car, with Majors being ejected out of the vehicle.
“In that moment, we truly believed we weren’t going to make it out alive. I am beyond grateful to be alive.”
Majors sustained severe injuries including a fractured spine, broken clavicle, broken rib, severe concussion, and multiple head injuries that required staples. Her wife walked away with minor injuries but they both were
“assaulted, traumatized and nearly killed”.
As for Goodman and Wolfrey, they’ve both been charged with misdemeanors including brandishing a firearm and indecent exposure.
Pending an investigation, they could potentially be charged with a hate crime as well.
Smh! They need to be under the jail!

Today, with heavy hearts and profound outrage, Until Freedom stands with the family and community of Breonna Taylor in the wake of the deeply disappointing suggestion by this current Administration to sentence Brett Hankison for a mere day. This is not just an attempt at another miscarriage of justice but a painful reminder of the systemic devaluation of Black lives, particularly the lives of Black women.
Breonna Taylor’s bright future was unjustly extinguished, and today’s suggested sentence sends a devastating message that the systems supposed to protect and serve all citizens continue to fail Black communities. We must recognize the broader implications of such lenient judgments—it signals a bitter disregard for accountability and justice.
We recognize that elections have powerful consequences, influencing not just laws and policies but the very pursuit of justice. Leaders like former Department of Justice official Kristen Clarke spearheaded investigations that held perpetrators accountable. Their absence and the changes in leadership have tangible impacts on the outcomes of cases like these.
This moment demands a steadfast commitment to change. We call on our communities to harness their collective power to effect change through voting, advocacy, and persistent demand for accountability at every level of government. Breonna’s life mattered, and we must ensure that her story continues to galvanize action and inspire reform.

This is the time to know who is
running for midterms; to prepare to vote and rally others around voting for candidates who will protect civil rights; to collaborate with orgs doing essential, humane work, etc.
When the Justice Department lifted a school desegregation order in Louisiana this week, officials called its continued existence a “historical wrong” and suggested that others dating to the Civil Rights Movement should be reconsidered.
The end of the 1966 legal agreement with Plaquemines Parish schools announced Tuesday shows the Trump administration is “getting America refocused on our bright future,” Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said.
Inside the Justice Department, officials appointed by President Donald Trump have expressed desire to withdraw from other desegregation orders they see as an unnecessary burden on schools, according to a person familiar with the issue who was granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
Dozens of school districts across the South remain under court-enforced agreements dictating steps to work toward integration, decades after the Supreme Court struck down racial segregation in education.
Some see the court orders’ endurance as a sign the government never eradicated segregation, while officials in Louisiana and at some schools see the orders as bygone relics that should be wiped away.
