When I was a plant manager, we had a standard called tour ready—our shop floor was always spotless, ready for any surprise visit from a key customer. Just the other day, I was walking through a plant, noticed paper on the floor, and wondered: Do I pick it up? Would it be appreciated, or would it ruffle feathers?
