South Cobb Council PTA (SCC) was awarded a grant from the National PTA and the Yum-o! foundation to improve healthy behaviors among families in underserved communities by using a family and student-driven process. The goal of the grant is to improve nutrition and healthy eating at school, at home, and in the community. The purpose for this grant is to host an affair for the whole family which will include education portions of visiting different chefs stations for samples of healthy meals. We were invited by the South Cobb council PTA and one of my favorite chefs, Kitura Smith to speak on nutrition…. The attendees were given food gift cards and a bag of groceries with the ingredients to prepare what they learned this evening! You have the power to self heal! Be well family!
