We decided to grill some of the smaller sunflowers. They were so good! I decided to ignore all of the recipes I was finding and went another direction. Instead of olive oil and sun dried tomatoes I used garlic, butter, lemon juice and Sriracha with a sprinkle of salt. AMAZING! I found out that it's important to use the variety with the softer less developed shells. The Mongolian giant that I posted earlier did not turn out since the shells were too hard. It was like a mixture of the taste of artichoke but the experience of eating corn on the cob. Will definitely do this again. (Don't worry the sunflower we already posted about was used for roasted sunflower seeds not lost in the grilling experiment)

We finally got some peaches from our tree! This variety is called Indian Blood because the interior flesh is white and the outer flesh is red making it look like it's bleeding when you bite into it. Very yummy. We tried something different with our fruit trees this year and we're really impressed with the outcome (more on that later 😉).

No filters, no tricks in how the picture was taken. This sunflower is really that big. And has beautiful seeds!

A Ratatouille inspired dish from the land. Zucchini, yellow squash, red onion, garlic, tomato, thyme topped with red wine rosemary sausage, Hungarian hot peppers, balsamic, olive oil, salt and pepper. I'll finish it with fresh basil and freshly grated parmesan.
