Our patrons! Mark Martin and Shannon Martin who started DRAR in 2005 in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and still fighting today for animal welfare. They are also the owners of Pet Supplies Plus in GA and NC. They work hard to keep our hard earned dollars fighting for animal causes here in their hometown. We are happy to be fighting alongside them.

Pet store helps veteran who saved dog from hot car Michael Hammons took action after seeing a dog locked inside of a rapidly heating car at a Athens area shopping center. The U.S. Army veteran broke the window of the car to free the dog.

Home (Disaster Response Animal Rescue) Disaster Response Animal Rescue was born from a desperate need to save the animals left behind in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and to cut through the red tape which continued to hinder their rescue. These lost and hopeless souls had no voice in this disaster; we gave them one.
