ACCPD, with the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, arrested Jason Martinez, a 20-year-old of Athens, GA, on July 1, 2026. This arrest resulted from a search that was executed on June 18, 2026, during which evidence was seized and forensically examined. Martinez was arrested and charged on 10 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children.

On July 1, 2026, a driver succumbed to injuries he sustained in a crash that occurred on June 12, 2026, in the area of Lexington Road and East Meadow Drive.

On June 26, 2026, the ACCPD Gang Unit, with the assistance of the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force, along with ACCPD’s Strategic Response Team and K-9 Unit, executed search warrants in the 200 block of Rocksprings Court and the 100 block of Madison Avenue.
As a result, officers seized seven fi****ms, approximately 1.5 pounds of ma*****na, and $17,339 in U.S. currency.
Jaylen Brown (22), Tedero Phillips (21), and Doukyius Clark (19), all of Athens, GA, were arrested and charged with Violation of the Street Gang Act, Possession of Fi****ms During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of Ma*****na with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Ma*****na with Intent to Distribute in Public Housing.
