Don’t overlook the older professor. I can’t even begin to count the number of times I’ve heard or seen “well, I don’t want anything older than X.” Because he’ll require maintenance? So do all horses - that’s called taking good care of them, to feel their best. Because you won’t have as many years with them? You’ll spend fewer of those years dealing with youthful exuberance, and can get right to learning and competing. The older schoolmaster type is who they are, been-there-done-that, and is proven. A young prospect has a lot of growing up to do, and lots of unanswered questions. The older teacher may be the wiser use of resources for you and for your journey up the sport 👩‍🏫
