We took three teams to the Collegiate Disc Golf National Championships this past week in Marion, North Carolina. As we learned from last year, the conditions were always changing, from cold to warm, swirling wind, rain, and even snow on the final day! All three teams competed on the Boulders course and the new course on the property, the Gorge. Congrats to Mizzou who was able to take home the championship (and keep it in the SEC for another year)!
A team (Carson, Davis, Patrick, and Pierce): Solid team round at -9 on day one on the Gorge, but the following rounds were less notable. The A team finished in the top 30 out of 120+ mens teams that came to compete at Nationals.
B team (Andrew, Dillon, Ethan, and Jack): Consistent showing days one through four with two members competing in their first Nationals tournament! They capped off the tournament by beating the A team’s doubles score at Boulders from the day before.
C team (Brandon, Cameron, Matt, and Trey): None of these guys had played together before this tournament, and they improved their team chemistry round after round. Three members had never played the two courses at nationals, and Matt helped show them how it was done.
HUGE thank you to everyone who bought discs, played in our league or tournaments, donated, or supported in any way! We couldn’t have gotten to play without y’all, and hope to have your continued support. Go Dawgs!!
