Daphne is doing well today. My husband and I are tired. Daphne is on prednisolone to decrease the inflammation in her spinal cord. Prednisolone has several side effects; one of the more annoying ones is increased urine production. She may also have some decreased urinary control related to her spinal cord injury. Whatever the reason, she is desperate to urinate every 2-2.5 hours and if we don't get her outside she will have an accident in her crate....

I go to the Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter every Wednesday to give rabies vaccines and veterinary advice. The staff are super dedicated and do everything they can to find homes for all the animals under their care. ***I have never seen them so full as they are now. If you are wanting a new dog or cat friend, please consider the Toccoa Stephens County Humane Shelter.*** It's about 75 minutes north of Athens and the drive is a pretty one.

In this picture I'm doing a laser treatment on Heavy, a dog who was surrendered to the shelter after he was hit by a car. Heavy, who is a super sweet boy, fortunately escaped internal injuries but had horrendous road rash which has responded well to laser therapy and antibiotics. Heavy has a home already, but many dogs and cats there don't.
