Dear Friends of the Edison Biotechnology Institute,

We wanted to share some important news with you. At of the end of November, the Edison Biotechnology Institute (EBI) has officially transitioned into a new chapter. The institute is being reconfigured/refreshed, and most of its funding has been transferred to the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (HCOM) to reframe EBI into a new institute focused on aging research.

This new institute, currently led by Dr. Darlene Berryman, will carry forward the spirit of innovation and discovery that EBI has been known for. While the name of the new institute is still being finalized, its mission will center on advancing aging-related research and making meaningful contributions to the field.

We deeply appreciate the support, engagement, and friendship of everyone who has been part of EBI’s story. You’ve helped make it a special place. Thank you for being part of the EBI family!

Warm regards,
Shiyong Wu

Congratulations to Dr. John Kopchick (Distinguished Professor and Goll-Ohio Eminent Scholar, EBI and HCOM) and his group for TWO outstanding papers ranked as the top 10 percent of articles published in the journal Endocrinology in 2019-2020 as assessed by rate of citation!

The title for one of the papers is “Adipocyte-specific GH receptor null (AdGHRKO) mice have enhanced insulin sensitivity with reduced liver triglycerides”. The other is “GH “knockout” mice have increased subcutaneous adipose tissue with decreased fibrosis and enhanced insulin sensitivity.” Dr. Edward List (Associate Investigator at EBI) is the first author for both articles. We are very delighted to see that their exceptional research work reaches a global audience of influential researchers, with peer recognition, visibility, and readership impact!

Endocrinology is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by The Endocrine Society. It is the Society's oldest journal and was established in 1917. It covers research on all aspects of endocrinology, including growth factors, steroids, the thyroid, and physiology.
