Anna and Daisy: A Stuffed Animal Clinic Story 06/08/2025

I can finally share my latest project!! I illustrated my first children’s’ book!!

I had been following Nicole’s page Stuffed Animal Clinic of Madison for awhile (I’m a big fan of her restoration work) when I saw her post an ad asking for an artist to illustrate the children’s book she wrote about her clinic. I’ve always wanted to try illustrations so I applied. Out of the hundreds of artists who responded to her request, she chose me! We worked closely on the project for about half a year. And now it’s finally published!! Nicole wrote the story, I illustrated the individual images, then Nicole and her husband edited and put all the pages and text together.

Thank you Nicole! It’s been an honor to help bring this dream, for both me and you, to reality!
Congratulations on your first book!!

My hometown. šŸ˜ž It’s so heartbreaking. Most of the damage was done to historic buildings that have been around since the beginning of the town.

The big tree in front of the courtyard has provided shade and beauty through countless concerts and events around the square. It will be sorely missed.
🄺
I will also miss driving by the Veterans museum and admiring the mural that was on the building across the street (now leveled). It was such a beautiful tribute. So many worked on that mural.

My heart aches for the local businesses that have been severely damaged.
After viewing and grieving all the photos and videos of the damaged buildings I ran across a post from The Frame Gallery of Athens saying their store is safe. I was so glad my friend was spared her family business.
A few minutes later it dawned on me, all my artwork is there on display! 😳 It had not even crossed my mind. I was so focused on my beautiful hometown and how many were hurting that I didn’t think about my own business. I’m thankful today that my art is safe as well.

I’m praying for all my fellow Athenians. I know we’ll rebuild and will be fine. It still hurts though.
