The Rupp Arena tickets weren’t scanned, the team access lanyards weren’t worn. The legend of the 33-0 Ashland Tomcats goes in the books as an unforgettable triumph and an unfortunate mystery in the history of sports and what may have been the greatest season ever of high school basketball, were it not for the unprecedented times we’ve seen with the Covid pandemic. Unprecedented times, indeed ...

Nevertheless, the 2019-2020 Ashland Tomcats, led by Coach Jason Mays and their faith in Christ, did something amazing that had nothing to do with sports at all - they brought an entire City together in a way we hadn’t seen in a long time. These young men, coaches and managers gave us something to be excited about, support, and to proud of. And for that, The Frame Up Gallery was honored to contribute these pieces of memorabilia to the four graduating seniors today.

We may always wonder what could have been were it a regular kind of season and world, but what’s more important is that we will never forget what did happen - that you did something amazing in sports and in life and you made your community proud. No doubt there are wonderful things to come for you in the future. And we will be praying for it.
