The Winchester Inn

It’s Wednesday which can only mean one thing; scones! Our Black Currant Scones have been on the menu since we opened our doors over 40 years ago. They used to be only a Sunday occasion but by popular demand, we serve them on Wednesdays as well. The tasty pastry is complimented by our house made Maple Walnut Butter and seasonal marmalade. You can have scones any day of the week at home with our dry scone mix from The Wi******er Kitchen. Pick up a jar of marmalade and complete the pairing. Mix and marmalade available in our gift shop at 35 South 2nd St, Ashland OR, 97520. Enjoy them with us during your stay by booking at winchesterinn.com or calling (541) 488-1113.

Perhaps it’s the inn’s origins as a family residence that makes our guests truly feel at home. Fordyce Roper and his wife, Julia, traveled up from Southern California to purchase the Ashland Flour Mill. In 1886, The Fordyce Roper House was erected as the most expensive home built in Ashland that year. The home marks a significant time in Ashland’s history as it showcases the development encouraged by the railways arrival in 1884. One of our innkeeper’s, Laurie Gibbs, is our resident historian and was able to find these photos of Fordyce and Julia. In honor of the man who dreamt up the manor, we have our Fordyce Suite. Located in the Main House (but, of course) and one of our original seven rooms, the king suite allows you to enjoy the home’s intended charm. Book The Fordyce Suite online at winchesterinn.com or on the phone at 541-488-1113.
