Infrared heat comes in a form of light that exists on the non-visible spectrum. Infrared light is a type of electromagnetic radiation that penetrates the skin and heats the body from the inside out. So, you can't see it, but you'll definitely be able to feel it!

Literally. And figuratively!

Floating is a fantastic way to relieve pressure on your spine. If you often find yourself on your feet or stuck at a desk, immersing yourself in this weightless experience can alleviate alllllll that built-up tension. Plus, it’s renowned for helping you shed the burdens that tend to "weigh you down."

Have you ever noticed that you feel a bit taller after a float session?

To many individuals who have ADHD, the idea of "doing nothing" might sound terrifying. Interestingly though, many float center owners have ADHD and found it to be so beneficial, they wanted to share the practice of floating with others.

Here are a few tips for those who may be curious about floating with ADHD:
🀫 The quiet might feel startling at first. You might enjoy listening to music to help you settle. Don't fight your thoughts though. That's what the brain does! Just notice them and try to watch them like you would watch a television show, as if you're in the audience witnessing the thoughts, but they aren't yours.

βœ… While the biggest benefits of floating come from finding stillness and rest, it's perfectly okay to stretch, wiggle, and explore the feelings of weightlessness! Just make sure no salty splashes get in your eyes.

πŸ’‘ If you choose to turn the lights off, your brain receives less information to process and makes it easier to rest, ultimately reaching theta state - that place just between being awake and being asleep.

πŸ•’ Once you're floating, time doesn't matter! We'll let you know when it's time to get out, but you don't have to worry about being late or preparing to leave. Just rest.

🧠 Many folks with ADHD say it feels like their brains are a giant web of thoughts. Floating provides the perfect environment to explore those thoughts, or if you do reach theta state, the brain can start to untangle the thoughts unconsciously.

πŸ“ˆ Start slow. You might prefer to build up to the full session time. You're in control and can get out at any time. It's a practice, just like going to the gym or learning a new skill. Don't expect that you'll go in the first time and master the art of doing nothing (though some people do!).
