Everyone talks about athletic scholarships.
Travel ball.
Training.
Strength coaches.
Speed & agility.
Showcases.
And there’s nothing wrong with any of that.
But here’s the question…
How many families are investing in academics with the same level of urgency?
The basketball scholarship door is crowded.
The academic scholarship door is often wide open.
Most athletes will never play professionally.
Most athletes won’t receive a full athletic scholarship.
But strong grades can create opportunities long after the final buzzer sounds.
Your future isn’t determined by one door.
It’s determined by the doors you prepare yourself to walk through.
What do you think?
Are parents investing enough in the academic side of the student-athlete experience?
🚨 Important NCAA EID Information 🚨
If your student-athlete has an Educational Impacting Disability (EID), there are additional pathways available if they fall short of NCAA GPA requirements.
But let’s clear up a few misconceptions 👇
An EID:
✅ Can provide additional flexibility if a student is ineligible based on NCAA GPA requirements
❌ Does NOT give extra time to earn core credits
❌ Does NOT override the D1 10/7 Rule
❌ Does NOT extend the 4-year high school timeline
This accommodation is designed for student-athletes who complete high school in the traditional 4-year window and have documented educational needs.
The key is understanding the rules BEFORE you need them.
Too many families hear “EID” and assume it solves everything. It doesn’t. You still need a plan, the right classes, and proper documentation.

Social media will have parents panicking, comparing, transferring, reclassing, chasing camps, and questioning their child’s journey.
But recruiting is not built on trends. It is built on planning, eligibility, fit, timing, and strategy.
Parents, do not just copy what you see online.Research it. Verify it. Ask real questions. And yes, even when I say something, go check the rule for yourself.
Comment PLANNING if you need help building the right academic and recruiting plan for your athlete.
🚨 PSA 🚨
There is a BIG difference between meeting with me and working with me.
Please don’t tell people you work with me if we are not actively working together and I’m not on a long-term agreement with your family.
Have we met? Probably.
Have I helped you? I sure hope so. 🙏🏽
But if you’re making decisions on your own, not following a plan, and I’m not actively involved in the process, then we are not working together.
I take a lot of pride in the results my families achieve. When I work with student-athletes, I’m invested. I’m monitoring, planning, adjusting, and helping navigate challenges along the way.
So if mistakes happen or issues arise after a one-time meeting and we’re no longer connected, I don’t want those outcomes associated with my work.
Thank you all for the support, the referrals, and the love. I appreciate every one of you. ❤️
And if you want to actually work together… you know where to find me. 😎

I had a revelation during my devotional time this morning.
For years, John 15 has been one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. I’ve read it many times, but this morning something hit me differently.
What if all those difficult seasons weren’t interruptions?
What if they were pruning seasons?
As I look back over my life, I can see places where God was cutting away things that weren’t fully connected to Him.
Old mindsets.
Wrong expectations.
The need for validation.
The pressure to perform.
Relationships that couldn’t go where He was taking me.
Even opportunities that looked good but weren’t God.
And I realized something.
The goal was never the harvest.
The goal was always connection.
Jesus doesn’t tell us to focus on producing fruit.
He tells us to abide.
To remain.
To stay connected to the Vine.
People see the schools.
People see the business.
People see the speaking engagements.
People see the social media growth.
People see the opportunities.
But if there’s any fruit in my life, please understand it only comes from one place.
Jesus.
Not strategy.
Not talent.
Not hard work alone.
The fruit is the result.
The Vine is the source.
Everything meaningful in my life flows from being connected to Him.
So today my prayer is simple:
“Lord, thank You for the pruning. Thank You for every season that brought me closer to You. If pruning is what keeps me connected to the Vine, then keep doing Your work in me.”
Because at the end of the day, success isn’t the goal.
Abiding is.
