At Home With Dee Dee

So, I had my first post-op appointment yesterday and boy did David and I learn a lot! . He explained why my foot was literally falling apart. He first took out all of the hardware and replaced it with the correct ones. The biggest problem I had was that when they went in and cut my heel, they moved it to the side so they could fix the issues and do the fusions, they were then supposed to take my heel and move it back and screw it with the other bone to align my foot so I would walk correctly. Well, to make a long short, they did NOT move my heel back and when he opened my foot, my heel was no where near where it was supposed to be which then made my foot turn out to the right quite a bit. (Sorry I can not remember all of the medical terms 🤪) Now, this was my FOURTH foot surgery for the same problems. Doctor Taylor went in and immediately saw the issue and did all he could to correct my heel.
Then my fusion that kept breaking and made my arch completely fall in on itself-he found they were placing the plate on the WRONG SIDE OF THE BONE 🥴
David and I are so thankful that God brought the right surgeon who would know exactly what to do! 🤗
I know this explanation is really long and probably more confusing than not, but all I know is that God is good, my foot should be back to as normal as it can be-I can get back to work., go on walks with my hubby and just feel like this can be put behind me!!
I will most definitely stay down for the 3 months knowing what I have to look forward to! 🤗
