I was so moved by this speech, I wrote an e-mail to Gen Welsh, to thank him for his service to the nation and for the reality check that this speech gave me. I never had the history or camaraderie that comes with military service, or the opportunity to visit one of those special places for me to “put my own hand on the marble and feel the pride.” My “marble” is merely the on-going memory of the collage of leaders whom I have touched over the years and hopefully whom with I’ve made a positive impact on their lives. Enjoy this...it is worth every minute.
