🎇 And that’s how we add a touch of resilience to our connection and attachment focused parenting!
When I was a new mom, I was running to save my baby every time she cried. I still run to their sides when they are upset.
That’s what we do, mama!
🔑The key, the shift, is this:
At first, I was rushing in to rescue her. Rescue her from tummy time, from frustration with her toys, from unsure feelings about being alone in her crib at bedtime.
➡️But now? Before I rescue, I PAUSE. OBSERVE. ALLOW SPACE. I don’t rush to fix it; instead I ask myself, how can I support so that she feels comfortable and confident TRYING this on her own?
Yes, sometimes this comes with tears. But when I am responding to my child and still a presence of love and support, I am not leaving her to CRY.
I am letting her TRY.

I just finished a new guide for ages 2-5!🎉
Although there’s certainly no single “hack” to get kids sleeping through the night, sometimes one of these can get you headed in the the right direction! Combined with consistent, confident sleep training, these “hacks” can be really useful! Please take a look, let me know what you think, and/or ask your questions in the comments or in my DM’s!

😣When sleep training feels WORSE than the exhaustion…
It’s because the sleep tips and tricks you’re being told to try focus on the wrong things.
They focus more on the method than the child. 😑
They focus on prescriptive tactics more than observation. 👎
They focus more on rigidity than responsiveness. 🙅♀️
You want sleep—you also want to feel good about teaching your little one to sleep, AND maintain a healthy connection and attachment with them. 👏🏻👍🏻🙌
❤️ You need sleep support rooted in observation and responsiveness, that values your parental intuition and your relationship with your baby or child.
