Yellow pitcher plants are passive pitfall traps, luring insects with sweet nectar into tall, slippery tubes where they fall into digestive fluids.
Interior design? 10/10. Guest safety? None whatsoever.
While they're not exactly the hostess with the mostest, yellow pitcher plants are a vital part of our wetland ecosystems.
The Nature Conservancy is working hard to protect incredible species like this one, which is native exclusively to the southeastern United States (specifically the Green Swamp Preserve in The Nature Conservancy in North Carolina).
