We were honored to present Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO), an Army Ranger with three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, with our Congressional Impact Award for his persistent and strategic leadership supporting Afghan allies in Congress.
He made the case for our wartime allies with one line.
"We are great because we have friends. And we have friends because we are friends."

Three years ago, Zohra Obaidy sat at her laptop late at night, typing her symptoms into Google. She was looking for a therapist who spoke Dari and understood Afghan families. She couldn't find one.
So she decided to become one.
Today she's in a community college classroom, on the path to becoming a family therapist, one of 21 wartime allies the America's Allies Scholarship Program backed in 2025, a partnership between No One Left Behind and the Afghan Future Fund.
She served as an advocacy officer for a USAID program in Afghanistan. Now she'll serve the women coming up behind her.

Azad spent years watching America from the outside, as an interpreter for U.S. forces in Iraq, serving a country he had never lived in.
His first Fourth of July here, he was inside it. Friends from those years brought him to their families' cookout, sparklers, and fireworks and all.
"This is home now," he thought.
Now, Azad works to bring other wartime allies the same welcome.
In his own words -
My first Fourth of July in America is something I'll never forget. After years of serving alongside U.S. forces as an interpreter in Iraq, I was finally here. I wasn’t a visitor. I was finally someone beginning a new life I had only dreamt of.
Friends I'd served with invited me to celebrate with their families. There were veterans, kids with sparklers running everywhere, barbecue, laughter, and fireworks lighting up the sky.
I remember thinking, ‘This is home now.’
For the first time, I wasn't watching America from the outside. Now, I was part of it. Every Fourth of July since has reminded me how grateful I am for the chance to build a life here, to serve this country as a U.S. Marine, and now to help other wartime allies find the same chance I was given.”
