The original Ice Bucket Challenge, founded by Pat Quinn, Pete Frates, and Anthony Senerchia, dramatically accelerated the fight against ALS. There are now dozens of new treatments in the pipeline, and our network of ALS clinics has more than doubled. Still, ALS remains fatal, and it can strike anyone at any time.

Now that fight has a new spark. When former NFL star Chris Johnson revealed his ALS diagnosis, he called for the world to revive the Ice Bucket Challenge — and fans answered. Marshawn Lynch, LenDale White, and Johnson's own daughter have all posted videos, with many donating $28 in honor of his jersey number.
