Some of you have already met Dr. Rachel Guerry in the office but we wanted to take the time to make it Instagram official! We are so excited to have Dr. Rachel joining our team. With two confident, passionate, and boss ladies working together anything is possible.

Dr. Rachel is a chiropractor with a big heart for little ones — and the mamas who care for them! She’s especially passionate about supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and all the beautifully chaotic moments that come with raising kids. Her approach centers around one core belief: when the nervous system is balanced, the body can truly heal, grow, and thrive.

Born and raised in Garland, Texas, Dr. Rachel has always been drawn to helping others through health and wellness. Her own chiropractic journey inspired her to pursue this path, leading her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Health & Exercise Science from the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!) and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University.

When she’s not caring for patients, you’ll likely find her enjoying a good movie night, playing volleyball, or chasing after her dogs. She brings that same fun, down-to-earth energy to her patients, creating a space where families can feel comfortable, cared for, and right at home.

Feel absolutely free to drop by the office and get to know Dr. Rachel. We had Bella and Milo here get adjusted and they loved it, Milo didn’t want the treatment session to end lol

Recent research has uncovered a fascinating connection between the nervous system and the immune system, shedding light on why some children are more susceptible to allergies than others. 🤧 If the primary cause of seasonal allergies was the mere exposure to pollen and certain allergens, we would all be walking around showing symptoms right now. Could the answer to what causes the symptoms and health challenges lie within immune system dysfunction?

Many children have been overstressed and stuck on what’s called “sympathetic dominance” from birth – due to perhaps a stressful pregnancy, birth interventions and trauma like forceps, vacuum extraction, induction, or c-section, and then early exposure to antibiotics, medications, and other toxins that can trigger inflammation and disrupt the balance of the gut, the microbiome, and the immune system.

When the sympathetic nervous system is stuck in overdrive, excessive stress hormones like cortisol are produced, weakening the immune system and allowing an excessive inflammatory response to allergens. 💢

If we continue to view the pollen or allergens themselves as the primary problem, then avoiding them by staying inside during the most beautiful and enjoyable times of the year will greatly limit the quality of life for kids and individuals with seasonal allergies.

While it’s totally normal for everyone, especially children with developing immune systems, to get a bit of a stuffy nose 🤧 or chest congestion during seasonal shifts and times of high pollen counts, it’s not normal to develop seasonal allergies that continue to worsen each year.

A crucial and easily overlooked component that may contribute to the development of seasonal allergies in kids, is that the central and autonomic nervous system must properly develop 🧠 first for the immune system to function appropriately as well.
