It seems that men are continually depicted as feeble minded dolts, who don’t understand their wives or their children and go about their lives as nothing more than sheep, waiting to be devoured by the wolves that we face in life. I have the honor of serving on the Board for this outstanding organization which has tirelessly focused its efforts on preventing our most vulnerable group, our young men and women, from the harmful choices of drug use and abuse. We are finding that there are so many mixed messages young people are exposed to regarding drug use that the perception of harm from these substances continues to decline amongst many of our children. DPR focuses on training these same young people to make smart deciscions so they may become productive and successful members of our communities. I realize our country is being battered by storms and many of us have been giving to alleviate the pain and suffering of our fellow Texans and Americans; but I would ask my friends and family to consider donating what you can to this very worthy organization during the North Texas Giving Day.
