This beautiful girl is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. Her owner is facing major life changes and wants to ensure she receives the time, attention, and active lifestyle she deserves.

🐾 5-year-old female German Shepherd 🐾 Housebroken and crate trained 🐾 Knows basic commands: sit, stay, leave it, come, and easy 🐾 Loyal, affectionate, and loves being with her people 🐾 Great watchdog and will alert to visitors and unfamiliar sounds 🐾 High-energy but well-mannered in the home 🐾 Enjoys daily walks, car rides, and playing ball

👶 Excellent with children of all ages, including infants and young children. She has been gentle and protective around babies and loves playing fetch with kids.

🐱 Good with cats 🐶 Good with small dogs ⚠️ Best suited for a home without large female dogs, as she has shown reactivity toward them in the past.

She has never bitten anyone and has been a loving family companion her entire life.

Medical Information: • No known medical conditions • Not currently spayed • Currently in heat • Recently received monthly flea, tick, and parasite prevention • Previous vaccination history is limited, and veterinary records are not available

This is an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking decision for her owner, who is committed to finding the right home rather than simply placing her anywhere. We are looking for a foster or adopter who understands the needs of German Shepherds and can provide a stable, loving environment.

Gemma and Scooter are spending their days exploring the beautiful shores of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula — feeling sand beneath their paws, lake breezes on their faces, and the freedom they were almost denied.

These two were once out of time. Now they’re discovering what love, safety, and second chances feel like.

And the best part? Their story is still being written. Both are looking for forever homes where every day can feel like a new adventure.

🐾 Scooter & Gemma Update 🐾

Both Scooter and Gemma are still with us and continuing to make progress every day. ❤️

Gemma had her first vet appointment and is scheduled for her spay on June 1st. She is wonderful with people and other animals, and absolutely loves one-on-one attention. She can get a little anxious when left alone, but she’s settling in more and more each day and showing us what a sweet girl she truly is.

Scooter is also making great progress. He definitely has his favorite people and takes a little extra time when meeting new people or animals, but once he feels comfortable, his personality really shines. He has tons of energy and absolutely loves running and playing outside with the others.

We’re so proud of both of them and thankful for everyone following their journey and supporting rescue dogs like Scooter and Gemma. 🐶❤️
