A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to do some backpacking with Apex Forestry LLC We spent 3 nights in the woods pretty comfortably. Hand processing firewood with axes and hand saws is a nice way to break away from the chainsaws. Now that it’s warmed up, I’m itching to start climbing trees again!

It’s been an interesting winter. The slower pace has allowed us to focus on bringing the company full circle, transforming trees we remove into finished, handcrafted pieces like this black walnut bowl and spoon.
