The smoke is still a lingering issue for us in .

The air quality is hazardous today.
That means it is dangerous for everyone to be outside.

You can check the air quality without leaving your home! Go to www.outagamie.gov/Air to view the latest status and learn more about how you can protect yourself and your family from hazards like wildfire smoke.

- Avoid all outdoor activities and stay inside as much as possible
- Close your windows and doors
- Implement high-efficiency air filters indoors, if available
- Wear an N95 mask if you have to be outside, especially those with existing medical conditions
- Check on your friends, family, and neighbors, especially older adults and pregnant people, to ensure their safety

Wildfire smoke is a mix of gases and fine particles from burning trees and plants, buildings, and other materials.

Wildfire smoke can make anyone sick, but some people have a higher risk of getting sick. People most at risk include:
- People with chronic conditions like asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), diabetes, chronic kidney disease, or heart disease
- Pregnant women
- Children
- Responders

Plan to keep wildfire smoke outside.
- Choose a room you can close off from outside air.
- Set up a portable air cleaner or a filter to keep the air in this room cleaner even when it's smoky outdoors or in the rest of your home.
