I'm going to say something that might upset you: that hot shower you love? It's stripping your moisture right out of your hair.

I get it - hot water feels amazing. Especially in winter. But it's literally opening up your hair cuticles and washing away all the good stuff (moisture, natural oils, everything). Then you wonder why your hair is dry and dull.

Here's what I tell my salon guests: enjoy your hot shower, but finish with a cold rinse. I know, I know - it sucks. But 30 seconds of cold water at the end will seal your hair cuticles and lock in moisture. Your hair will be noticeably shinier.

I've been doing this for years. It works.
