Summary:
This position is for a Manual Machinist with 3+ years of experience. This position will be responsible for safely performing multiple machine task. Applicant must be able to assess quality standards and ensure work meets exact specifications.
SKILLS AND ABILITITES REQUIRED
Must be able to operate multiple machines including manual lathes, manual mills, horizontal boring mills and vertical turret lathes.
Must understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and machining techniques. Knowledge of speeds and feeds, proper tool selection and machine strategies that avoid unnecessary machining
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those around him/her. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Re-machine parts to repair them and still maintain critical dimensions.
Requires long periods of standing, reaching and using hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls;
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to complete work with limited supervision.
Maintains product specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, and facing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Must be able to handle multiple projects and work independently
Must be able to read measuring instruments, hold tolerances, and generate desired surface finishes.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and perform quality checks as needed.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation and color vision
Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 50 lbs.
Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
HOURS:
Full Time Position: Mon – Fri 7:30 – 4:00 with frequent overtime and weekends as needed to meet customer deliveries. Schedule changes may also be required.
Summary:
The Alignment Technician travels to customer’s industrial facilities and performs alignment measurements using state-of-the-art precision alignment tools.

Work Environment:
Industrial environment. Paper and Steel mills
Physical Demands:
Long hours in an industrial setting. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively. Ability to work in extreme temperature environments.
Position Type / Hours:
Full-time. Typically 12 hours shifts in the mill. Hours and Days vary Sunday – Saturday.
Travel:
Extensive travel (75% +) though out the nation. Frequent overnight travel.
Required Education/Experience:
High School Education
Preferred Education/ Experience:
Associates degree in civil engineering or other technical field a plus
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug test per customer requirements.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
