I'll be playing Christmas songs for the Hearthstone's Victorian Christmas this evening, Saturday December 27th, from 6pm-8pm. Tickets are available through their website at the link below. It's a self-guided tour, so they offer staggered times to make sure it's not overcrowded at any specific time. The historic home is absolutely gorgeous all decked out for Christmas! My students are currently learning about the many notable composers in musical theatre history, and William Finn is coming up in one of the next lessons. We mourn his passing, grieve with his loved ones, and remember him for his lasting contribution to music and the theatre!

The Museum of Broadway mourns the loss of composer and lyricist William Finn, who has passed away at the age of 73.💔
Under the auspices of Off-Broadway’s Playwrights Horizons, Finn developed his musicals, IN TROUSERS, MARCH OF THE FALSETTOS and FALSETTOLAND, and the latter two were then combined to create the groundbreaking, moving, and much-beloved FALSETTOS, which debuted on Broadway in 1992 and earned him Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Book (with James Lapine). Finn was nominated again for Best Score for his 2005 musical THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. His other musicals include A NEW BRAIN and LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, the song cycle ELEGIES, and lyrics for DANGEROUS GAMES.
