Several months ago, we shared the incredible story of James Black - a Texas police officer and ASP Instructor - who survived an encounter that took unimaginable turns, all in the span of 19 seconds.

Last week, ASP Trainer Kristi Wuensche went to the Texas Tech Police Department to present Officer Black with a custom display box we built for the Sentry Cuffs and Exo Cases he wore the night of the attack. As the original story reported, these were the only tools on his belt that survived the incident completely.

We are grateful that Officer Black is well along in his recovery and back to work at his department. His never-give-up mentality exemplifies ASP's training ethos, and we are privileged to share his story and honor him.

As we observe Police Week, we want to recognize and thank the members of our team who have served in law enforcement. Their experience, dedication and commitment to public safety continue to shape the work we do every day.

Last, but not least, we recognize all of the Officers, Deputies, Troopers and other law enforcement professionals on the ASP International Training Team.
