June 17, 2024:
The day after my surrender to Golden Hearts Livestock Rescue, I was given urgent attention. Laura's timely administration of Banamine, a pain reliever commonly used for colic, successfully alleviated my symptoms. The rapid response of friends and a veterinarian enabled us to take swift action.

And here we go to the ranch and in to my stable for the night. I get my own big space for a while until I get situated, then I’ll get to meet everyone.

At my previous location, the goats ate my tail and right next to the fence on left side grows a big oleander tree, poisonous to us horses and other animals. You can tell I’m in pain the way I bend over to one side. Not much of a tummy on this girl. Need to fatten up my butt as well.

The day of surrender, 6/16/2024.
Laura and Stina had already been there on 6/15, Laura gave me meds for colic however they weren’t able to get me that day.
Laura haltered me with no problem the day after, however that was before she was told that yeah, I bite! I’m in pain !

Hi and welcome to Myka’s page.
I was rescued in June, and has been in Golden Hearts Livestock Rescue care ever since.
I was just called “Horsie” at the time however Laura renamed me a week or so later.
My situation was really bad, I went down the day after I was surrendered to GHLR and couldn’t get up. Laura pulled all her strings to find a vet that could help me, and other friends came to her assistance, she gave me a shot with painkiller, and I was able to get up and walk onto the horse trailer and brought to a vet. Here I was diagnosed with sandcolic- broken rib and a dislocated rib.
