Team Miller Time

Miller had a big day today at the IDS Championships at Sliding G Ranch, LLC. Today was Velocity and Eclipse. Miller brought home 2nd place in Velocity in his division and 1st place in Eclipse in his division!!

Most importantly, we had a great time with fun dog people, dressed up in the Hawaiian theme, cheered for friends and relaxed. Looking forward to two more days!!

Day 4 Recap:

Two more rounds of speed retrieve. Miller ran a 9.4xx amd a 9.3xx today. He gave it his all and had fun.

This afternoon we had a great time visiting the Field of Dreams. Miller wanted to play every time he heard a bat hit a ball! Had a great time visiting with our CDD teammates - Gracie, Josh, Shelley, Aaron and Danielle! We also ran into Tom and Duchess!

Day 3 Recap of Speed Retrieve:

First attempt - Miller’s all wheel drive wasn’t working (oh wait, he is missing a rear tire) and he slipped on the dock then off the dock. I yelled. He turned around to me. Then he went on to the bumper. Time 14. # # # second run.

Miller was not injured. I think it just startled him. Honestly, it startled me as well.

Second attempt - much better. No slipping and a 9. # # # run. He was definitely tired from a morning of dueling and I wasn’t going to push him.

Miller retired to our air bnb and was wiped out and slept hard. Now on to today … two more Speed Retrieve runs and then our Worlds is complete.

We are having a great time!!

Miller got a new personal best in Dueling again today with a time of 8.448. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to keep us in the top 16. He finished 21st out of 35 competitors in Class 4. Beyond proud of him for the past two days in dueling!! He definitely loves this sport so I guess we may do more of it next year!!

As an aside, Miller has only done Dueling twice before - the first time at Bark at Noah’s Ark in 2023 and then again this year at Bark at Noah’s Ark, which is where he earned his invite.

Thank you, Dueling Dogs, for an awesome experience the last two days and the competitors we got to race against!!!

Preliminary Bubble and Miller is in Dueling Dogs Finals - 16th spot. May or may not keep it after today’s competition but I’m incredibly proud to just be in the spot for now with the only tripawd in the competition!!!

First duel of the day … with Valeria DiBartolomeo and Kendall. They are from Italy so it was an honor to meet them!

Valeria said Miller should come to Italy to compete and show folks that tripawds can do this, too!

Hmm .. that would be an amazing “road” trip!!

Team Miller Time has arrived in Iowa for our first DockDog World Championships!

We traveled with Gracie Parker and Moose for the past two days - 18 hours of road tripping, lots of snacks, roadtrip bingo and fun times!

Great week ahead of fun, adventures and dock diving!!!
