Topo Wilderness | 7 Books to Grow in Intimacy with God 11/22/2024

I struggled a bit this year in creating my Christmas wish list, so thought I might help someone else.

Have a book or two you'd put in your own list? Add it in the comments and tell us why! (Bonus if you include your Thinking/Doing/Being assessment)

For the curious, here's a Peters Family Update...

It's been two years since we left Ohio, much has changed! I thought I'd share a quick overview of how we're doing.

Family Life: Micah's 13, and Elise is 12, it's so fun to watch them in this season of their development! They are becoming more personally invested in things that matter to them, and we can see how this transition has matured them in meaningful ways. We're renting a house with a friend from our church plant team, our space is such a gift for us.

Work Life: Melissa has been working full time for the last year, it has been quite an adjustment for our family (after primarily serving in the "Mom" business). She's flexing her creative problem solving, management and relational skills in significant ways and making a positive impact on her company. I continue to do handyman work, I now have a handful of fantastic repeat customers who I enjoy connecting with. For the last few months however, I've begun fundraising in order to give more of myself to our church planting process. I am so thankful for my supporters, it's going really well!

Church Life: Our Church experiment, which is now known as "Fuse," is a thrilling adventure. We have a team of high caliber people who are committed to exploring uncharted territory -which isn't always pleasant. One step at a time, we are exploring and developing systems and structures for foundational aspects of "Church," including how we gather, disciple, empower, make decisions, engage in mission, etc. I have much more respect for anyone who has ever pioneered anything. One phrase I've heard the Lord saying to me over the last year, "Anything worth building is worth building slowly."

Melissa and I continue to enjoy and struggle with our current reality, that the old shape of our lives is gone, and we can't quite see the new one. It's a journey of discovery and surrender. The Lord is forming great things in us in the process and for that we're so grateful.

I share more regular updates with a team of supporters and prayer partners, let me know if you'd like to join our team!
