Nebraska to Host Multiple CMP EIC “LEG” Matches at Weeping Water Gun Club on September 26

Competitive pistol and air gun athletes are invited to compete in a full day of CMP Excellence-in-Competition (EIC) “LEG” events on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at the Weeping Water Gun Club in Weeping Water, Neb.

Conveniently located approximately 30 miles east of Lincoln on Highway 34 and 30 miles south of Omaha on Highway 50, the event offers competitors the opportunity to earn valuable EIC points in multiple disciplines throughout the day.

The match schedule includes:
8:30 a.m. – CMP EIC “LEG” Service Pistol
9:30 a.m. – CMP EIC “LEG” .38 Revolver
10:30 a.m. – CMP EIC “LEG” .22 Pistol
11:30 a.m. (or earlier, as scheduling permits) – CMP Air Pistol EIC “LEG”
Following Air Pistol – CMP Air Rifle EIC “LEG”

With five EIC opportunities scheduled in a single day, the Nebraska event provides competitors with an excellent chance to expand their match experience while working toward Distinguished status.

CMP Set to Host Coach Development Clinic June 27

ANNISTON, Ala. – The CMP is thrilled to announce the first session of its new Coach Development Program, set to be held June 27 at the Judith Legerski CMP Competition Center in Anniston.

Developed by staff members after several requests by CMP State Directors, the program will provide enhanced training for coaches already out on the ranges as well as instructional fundamentals for new coaches.

Each clinic will be approximately two hours, focusing on three-position and Standing Air Rifle instruction led by our Training & Education Manager, Hank Gray.

Gray has been involved in competitive marksmanship for nearly 40 years, most recently as competitor and instructor for the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit and Team USA.
