But you can help with a bat house! Here's how to build and place it:

🦇 The build:
- Interior 24” tall x 14” wide
- 3-4 internal chambers, spaced ¾” apart
- Rough surfaces for grip
- Open bottom for entry
- Use untreated cedar, cypress, or plywood
- Caulk all seams to keep warmth in

🦇 The placement:
- 15-20 feet high on a pole or wall (not a tree)
- South or southeast facing for sun exposure
- Clear drop space below for takeoff
- Near water sources if possible
- Paint color based on your latitude

🦇 What to expect:
- Mount before April for spring occupancy
- First-year use is rare; patience is key!
- Look for droppings as a sign of occupancy
- Don’t open the box from May to August
