Since 2004 I’ve taken the opportunity to see where our meats, dairy products, seasonal vegetables and fruits come from. Establishing partnerships with local farmers and processors. My agility as owning and operating a artisan butcher shop and deli.
Grateful for my valued customers word of mouth and articles written in several local newspapers and international foodie magazines like Bon Appetite.
I continue to help farmers and like minded local food distributors and restaurants.
At My Butcher and More we we sold white corn from Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville Md, dry aged beef, lamb and pork, free range poultry from family farms.
I was asked by the Maryland Department of agriculture in Annapolis to help with setting up local farmers and producers with new retail and restaurant customers.
My difficult business needs were sourcing pure sustainable foods and beverages for my shop. Before Google, Facebook etc. I was marketing my business by networking with other businesses getting my customers emails was a key factor to distribute my daily featured products.
I devote my free time to promoting small business community in my area.
My dedication to shop local is partly responsible for Anne Arundel County farmers markets early development. Connecting the dots for retailers and restaurants to partner with locally owned and operated family farms.
My ability to come up with solutions for farmers to best market their goods to the wholesale and retail trade. Networking with like minded people creates a buzz within their community.
I also have a keen talent for finding theft and waist issues. Every ounce counts.
Using social media is the fastest way to communicate with your current and future customers. Purchasing print adds is becoming less and less effective. Iam focused on communication and education through visual online photos and video posts. Being able to manage your social media will increase your sales by a minimum of 20% or more.
Knowing your customers needs and constant follow up with questions is important.
