This patient was referred by a good friend. Because the patient was a teenager, the OMFS could not predictably remove and perform socket preservation for implant placement in several years, so we tried to treat. This case was medicated twice with calcium hydroxide powder and the sinus tract did heal on visit three. The case was obturated with BC putty. Two year recall showed surprising healing! ๐Ÿ’ช ๐ŸŽ‡

On Wednesday our founding partner, Dr. Louis Berman, spent his last clinical day at Annapolis Endodontics. He established the practice in 1983 and it has been the premier endodontic practice in the area because of his vision and tireless efforts. We are honored to take the baton in continuing to deliver exceptional patient care and wish Dr. Berman a relaxing and joyful retirement. Thanks to our wonderful staff for rounding up some old photos, making T-shirts, and throwing the party!

This was a really unusual case. The chief complaint from the patient was a sinus tract at the gingival margin of the DB root of tooth 3. The tooth has severe recession and the only restoration was the buccal composite. I took the CBCT to assess the bone loss and saw this massive endo-perio lesion. Even more interesting, the tooth responded normally to pulp testing. This was confirmed upon access where all canals except DB were vital and really quite uninflamed. A rare diagnosis of AIP, CAA. Lastly, the palatal root was located quite close to the sinus and had a severe distal curve to exit. Single visit.
