The Collaborative Piano Institute

What a busy day! This morning, we were treated to a masterclass from Professor Kyung-A Yoo, who has gotten to know us all individually over the last few weeks. She is such a kind and caring human being, and spent this morning giving us many creative ideas on how to improve our ensemble work! In the afternoon, we attended another insightful masterclass held by the highly esteemed Mr. Howard Watkins. Interesting tidbit: one of our singers sadly fell sick, so her pianist took on the challenge of singing and performing at the same time. Needless to say, this pianist ATE IT UP and received the loudest masterclass applause in the history of CPI 2026! Finally, the evening featured our very special songSPARKS concert, introducing a batch of beautiful new songs composed and performed by CPIers to the world. It's days like this that really remind us of the joys of live music:)
