Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments
11/06/2015
Happy 201st Birthday to the famous musical instrument maker Adolphe Sax. The Stearns Collection has one of his earliest surviving instruments: a bass clarinet constructed around 1840. As the maker's mark shows, this instrument was built while Sax was still living in Brussels. He moved to Paris in 1841.
