Retribution of Hope:

May we never again face an election like this. May we find peace and true freedom in the values we hold dear, those that are self-evident, written in the bones of this nation. May we stand as one, unshakable and steadfast.

May we never have to vote to keep the land of the free truly free. May it finally become what it promised to be — a land of freedom, of justice, of belonging. May the systems that thrive on division, on oppression, on fear, finally fall and fail.

I am a Black woman running for office because I believe in the idea of America, even as I hold its realities to account. I believe in democracy, in the power of people to shape this country for the better. There was a time when I would have been counted as only three-fifths of a person under the very Constitution I now seek to serve. And yet, I am here, fighting for this America because I know what it can be.

Tomorrow, I’ll wake up and leave it all on the line. I’ll keep showing up, because this fight is real. But I’m not alone. Do your part. Show up, speak out, vote — because lives truly are at stake. This isn’t a game. This is the fight for a future worth believing in.
