Donor Spotlight: Maril Yeske

This week, we are honored to spotlight Maril Yeske, a dedicated leader, passionate advocate, and constant supporter of the AnMed Foundation.

Her journey with the Foundation began in 2009 through her participation in the Ambassador Program. She is a member of the White Coat Society, our current Immediate Past Board Chair, and is completing her eighth consecutive year of service on the Foundation Board. After the loss of her husband, serving on the Foundation Board became more than a volunteer role, it became a renewed sense of purpose. With a lifelong passion for community health, and a former Registered Nurse, Maril found that the Foundation's mission aligned perfectly with her own desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

One of Maril's proudest accomplishments came during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than cancel the annual Camellia Ball, she worked alongside Executive Director, Tim Self to reimagine the event as Camellia Home, an innovative evening hosted in 15 homes across our community. The event not only allowed supporters to gather safely, but also raised critical funds to meet the urgent needs of AnMed employees during an unprecedented time.

We are so grateful for her continued leadership, creativity, and unwavering commitment that helps strengthen the Foundation's presence. Thank you, Maril, for your years of dedicated service, your compassionate heart, and the legacy you're helping build. Your impact continues to inspire us all.

Donor Spotlight: Michael Haje, VP Ambulatory Operations

Strong communities are built by leaders who are dedicated to making a difference. This week, we're featuring Michael Haje, a member of AnMed's Executive Office and the Vice President of Ambulatory Operations, whose leadership and commitment to expanding access to high-quality healthcare is helping create a healthier future for the communities we serve.

Michael became involved with the Foundation in early 2025 after witnessing firsthand the difference philanthropy makes in the lives of patients and families throughout our region. He believes the Foundation plays a vital role in expanding access to care, supporting community health initiatives, and ensuring everyone has access to the services they need.

“What I’m most proud of is that AnMed remains committed to serving everyone who walks through our doors.”

As AnMed continues to grow its reach through emergency, primary, pediatric, specialty, rehabilitation, and diagnostic services, Michael is passionate about helping the Foundation increase its impact so even more individuals and families can access the care, support, and resources they need to live healthier lives.

Thank you, Michael, for your leadership and commitment to strengthening the health of our community!

This morning, Tim and Kourtney joined United Way of Pickens County for a tour of Camp iROCK at Liberty Elementary to learn more about the impact of programs supported through our Better Together Employee Giving Campaign with United Way.

Each spring, the School District of Pickens County identifies students who could benefit from additional support and invites their families to participate. Through a partnership with the School District of Pickens County and Clemson University’s Call Me MiSTER program, Camp iROCK provides an enriching summer experience focused on strengthening reading skills, building character, and creating meaningful connections.

This summer, Camp iROCK is serving 200 children at Liberty Elementary and every camper is there because donors and community partners made it possible.

Seeing these students engaged, learning, and thriving was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to invest in its children. 💙📚☀️
