Confront to Restore, Not to Crucify 12/01/2025

Most of us don’t avoid confrontation because we don’t care…
we avoid it because we’re afraid of doing harm.

But Scripture doesn’t call us to confront to shame or punish —
it calls us to restore.

If you’re more interested in seeing sinners punished than restored, you’ve forgotten that the only people who demanded a crucifixion were the ones standing furthest from the truth.
So if restoration isn’t the goal… confrontation isn’t the calling.

That’s what this week’s Unleashed Podcast is about:

Have you ever noticed how what a child believes about God almost always comes through what they first believe about their father?

When we drift from God… it’s not just losing discipline or routine.
It’s like losing the sound of your Father’s voice.

And most of the time, the drift doesn’t happen because we stop loving God — it happens because something else quietly slips into the captain’s chair:
• Busyness
• Pressure to perform
• Shame we haven’t dealt with
• Habits we don’t want God touching
• Dreams we chase without asking Him first

Before long, our spiritual life goes silent…
and so does our heart.

I’ve lived that drift.
And I’ve lived the moment where I had to choose between saying:
“Don’t call my Father…”
or
“I need to talk to my Father… right now.”

Oh, how I wish I could still talk to my earthly father today.
There are so many things I’d ask him.

But the good news — the anchor of my life — is this:
I have a Father I can talk to right now… and He understands everything I’m going through.

If you’ve been drifting, this is your invitation to stop drifting and come home.

My new UNLEASHED podcast episode — “Before You Drift Off Course” — is live now.

Walking at the Speed of Jesus 08/11/2025

1. She didn’t need a lecture. She needed someone to sit in the silence, hold her hand, and understand.
2. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is simply be there… no fixing, no rushing—just presence.
3. She didn’t need answers. She needed to know she wasn’t alone.
Sometimes the most Christlike thing you can do… is just sit down.
No agenda. No quick advice. Just a dad holding his daughter’s hand, listening, and wiping away her tears. She needed someone there to build trust and extend empathy so she could feel safe unpacking what had been making her sad and feel alone.
In Episode 108 of Unleashed, Kevin and I talk about what it means to walk at the speed of Jesus—and how slowing down can open the door to deeper connection with God and others.
