PCT Coatings

Resurrection on these wheels that were completely screwed by another powder coater. These wheels showed up with a very bad finish on them and I decided to pull out the thickness checker before stripping. These wheels had so much material on them the gauge couldn’t read it. When its at that point its the equivalent of 10+ coats of powder. No they probably didnt coat them 10 times it was likely sprayed on a pre heated part and the material builds very fast. This is a no no. If you see videos of guys spraying powder on and its melting know they are doing it wrong and short cutting the process. The threaded holes for the center caps were full of media and powder along with the mounting surface being coated. Once I stripped the old powder off I realized why it was so thick. The blast job was horrendous the media used was way to aggressive and the blast pressure was so high the media embedded into the aluminum. After hand sanding them a couple coats of epoxy powder primer and sanding that out I had a nice surface to work with and the resurrection was performed flawlessly.

Starting today all vehicles and wheels that are scheduled in for a 24-48hr turnaround will require a deposit of $200 that is non refundable to get on the schedule. Ive had way to many people no call no show and not even have the courtesy to reply to text or calls when I check on them because they are late.
