Nesting Raven Birth Services

I’m often asked “what do you do all day?” As a post partum doula. It’s kind of an undefined role isn’t it? Many people think of the role as baby nurse, or baby sitter, or maybe breastfeeding support, the list goes on.
Well I like to think of it as a full spectrum family support person. As a doula I have held 4 month old babies all night so parents could sleep, I have prepped many many bottles, I have played with 2 year olds so mom could sleep with baby or take a shower, I have enlisted toddlers in small chores so they let mom have some bonding time with baby, I have taken all the kids and let parents nap, I have walked dogs, I’ve washed dishes, done laundry and sometimes just sat and watched babies sleep.
I’m sure I will have countless more experiences with this, but in a little over a year I have been so touched to be included of the lives of these families who have asked me into their homes, to see some of the most special times in their lives and share in the little joys they have.
I’ve been a doula for new parents, parents transitioning to 2 kids, parents of kids teething or sleep regressing, parents who had surgery And needed some extra help, parents who are trying to juggle sleep and breastfeeding and life. FULL SPECTRUM DOULA. ❤️
